| is that the manual level only releases the deck lid from the body, so if your power was out and it was raining you could still put the top up(though I bet your windows would be down). But the manual release does not let you put the top down as it wont disconnected the soft top from the deck lid. When one of the actuators on my red convertible went out I had to use a screwdriver to release it on that side each time I wanted to put the top down. Whatever, small price to pay for having a convertible TT.
